“Somebody much smarter than me once said “We Are What We Repeatedly Do”. I don’t know about you but I want to be strong. I did a lot of growing up in jail. My true education took place between the block walls of Central North Correctional Center. I did 8 years inside and during that time I got to:

-Know What I Stand For
-Be Consistent with my Character
These 3 key factors are the building blocks of my success. I’m a former Correctional Officer with the government of Ontario and now a successful gym owner, Strength Coach and author. It’s my job to get you stronger – let’s do it!

Nancy"I have been attending Shawn’s group training at Barrie Kettlebell Club since it’s inception. The workouts are intense but fun, exhilarating and rewarding. I would like to thank Coach Shawn for helping me get my strength back after a serious illness. In July I had cancer surgery and several complications which resulted in 6 weeks in the hospital during the summer. Over this period of time I lost 30 pounds and was not able to walk. I kept in touch with Shawn and told him I would be back as soon as I could. I started my chemo therapy treatments at the end of September and set myself a goal – to return my strength group training (which took 6 months). In November I started back at the gym with Shawn as my strength coach for one on one training. I was so weak I couldn’t pick up 10 lbs dumbbells. With Shawn’s patience and instruction I progressed and 8 weeks later I was able to perform deadlifts with a 36kg Kettlebell. Once I attained my strength things improved quickly. In March, the day after my chemo therapy treatments were done, I attended my first group session and kept up just fine. I attained my goal and things keep getting better. I would like to send a big thanks to Shawn and my friends (other members) at Barrie Kettlebell Club. It feels great to be back!"

I absolutely LOVE my strength and conditioning class on Monday and Wednesdayevenings.
